But I am interesting in finding out who is this Leader of the CEP Construction Arm. If there are people out there that could tell me a little bit about this who this person is please e-mail …

Blaming Unions Look Who IS Realy Responsible CORPORATIONS

July 7, 2009 by cepunion

Who is really responsible for the mess that we are in? To me it is a very simple answer the Corporate elite of this country. The wage difference between the lowest paid worker in a corporation and highest paid has jumped through the roof. Before if management made huge amounts of money it would be taxed a huge amount. Now I know that is not good for those that make huge amounts of money. But when your paying the lowest paid worker in your company less than a livable wage some of that taxed money can go to services needed for that worker to survive. But that has all changed now as our tax …

CEP Local 132 on Front Lines of Manufacturing Crisis

June 29, 2009 by cepunion

While other CEP Locals get leaflets mailed out to their communities the forgotten CEP Local 132 members carry on the struggle for over a year on the picket line. Did the CEP National recognize their one year anniversary with a press release? Did the CEP National send local members across the country like the members of Petrocan local in Montreal to talk about what issues they are facing with their employer and to raise money from the various locals? I am sure that the CEP National Organization has written off these members. As the Forestry 5 seem only to care about Forestry issues and not …

Bill 80, new union threat to construction workers: SFL By James Wood, The StarPhoenix June 24, 2009Last week, Ledcor's Tom Brown told the committee the company had essentially been prevented from coming to Saskatchewan by existing construction industry legislation because it keeps out the CLAC.Brown said the company had a strong relationship with the union because of its wall-to-wall certification and the fact that its collective agreements do not require subcontractors to be unionized by the CLAC.But the Christian Labour Association of Canada isn't regarded so favourably by the majority of …

IF Your Being Raid by CMAW

June 26, 2009 by cepunion

Well, I thought that I would take a look at the CMAW website and this what I found. 1. How many members does CEP have 162,000 or 150,000?2. CMAW does not raid other unions. That is correct CEP is doing the dirty work in Saskatchewan by supporting CLAC. 3. 80% of construction workers are working non-union. Well that was what was said about Saskatchewan at the board hearings. Coles also said that since 80 per cent of Saskatchewan's construction industry is currently non-unionized there's plenty of room for more unionization without pitting union versus union. So I guess your saying that the …
